About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 2, Bakery- Packing - 1st Shift to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As an Operator 2, Bakery- Packing - 1st Shift , you will support and coordinate daily packaging and retail bagging operations, ensuring production schedules, food safety, quality standards, and documentation requirements are consistently met while contributing to continuous improvement.

 

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 1st
• Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Weekend Availability: Required

 

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $21

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

• Coordinate and support daily bakery packaging and retail bagging line operations to meet production schedules
• Provide routine work direction and operational support to packaging and bagging team members
• Monitor equipment performance, product flow, and material availability to ensure efficient line operation
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety, quality, sanitation, and security requirements
• Perform and verify required quality checks, including metal detector testing, temperature monitoring, and labeling accuracy
• Complete accurate, legible, and timely production, quality, and packaging documentation and system entries
• Participate in training, continuous improvement initiatives, and problem‑solving activities to reduce waste and variation

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, SOPs, safety rules, and operating instructions
• Ability to complete routine written and electronic reports accurately
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn company systems such as MOVEX/SAP
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50–100 lbs. with team assistance

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Experience in food manufacturing or bakery packaging operations
• Knowledge of inventory control systems
• Forklift certification
• Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and daily management systems
• Strong problem‑solving and team leadership skills
