Senior Accountant

I mpactful, Manhattan based Non-profit organization is seeking a Senior Accountant professional. This is a critical role for the organization and is responsible for ensuring that bills and invoices are appropriately submitted, grant funding is properly tracked and managed, financial reports are prepared monthly and more. This is a dynamic role with great exposure to senior leadership. Responsibilities Ensure timely, accurate preparation and submission of assigned government contract billings and related financial reports. Assist with contract renewals, registrations, and maintenance of required documentation for government contracts. Support the Director of Government Contracts and Controller during annual audits, including CFR, SEFA, and funder audits. Assist in preparing and submitting annual budgets, budget modifications, advance requests, new need requests, and other contract-related submissions. Monitor contract cost allocations to ensure alignment with approved budgets and communicate variances as needed. Prepare monthly financial reports and analyses for management review and meetings. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of reporting requirements for government funding agencies and contracts. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; CPA preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and government contracts management. Experience with government contract billing for Federal, State, and City agencies (e.g., DHS, DOHMH, HASA, HUD, OMH). Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
