Performance Improvement Coordinator (2026-0623)

Job Title Performance Improvement Coordinator Location Renton, WA Work Hours Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., or as needed. Reports To Director, Quality & Patient Safety Job Overview The Performance Improvement Coordinator works closely with leaders and teams across Valley Medical Center (VMC) to identify opportunities for improvements and implement solutions. The role also educates staff on improvement tools and methods and oversees compliance with national certification programs. Prerequisites Bachelor's degree in healthcare, performance improvement, or related field required. Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare settings with operational process expertise. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred. Experience with IHI's Model of Improvement (PDSA) or Lean Six Sigma. Qualifications Leadership and project change management skills. Problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities. Accurate data entry; proficiency with spreadsheets and online forms. Professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills. Flexibility and ability to prioritize multiple demands. Systems thinking, change management, and performance improvement knowledge. Proficiency in performance improvement tools and MS Office. Independent, responsible, and proactive approach. Effective verbal and written communication; ability to adapt style and prepare reports and presentations. Essential Responsibilities Apply structured improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA) to achieve measurable outcomes. Monitor KPI dashboards and scorecards across VMC departments and report findings. Facilitate implementation meetings with leaders, IT, training teams, and committees. Ensure systematic rollout of process changes and monitor compliance. Support Patient- Centered Medical Home (PCMH) certification and data reporting. Oversee eligibility for national recognition certifications and maintain compliance. Analyze Patient Experience survey results and create reports. Assist with Leapfrog submissions and related meetings. Develop and own annual workplan with strategies, tasks, and timelines. Contribute to Quality & Safety Program evaluation and training initiatives. Lead improvement initiatives and workgroups; organize meetings, track tasks, and create timelines. Assist with performance improvement work for certifications and strategic priorities. Track progress of current process improvement projects and report status. Collaborate with stakeholders to align initiatives with organizational goals. Participate in policy and procedure development related to improvement initiatives. Maintain quality/safety/PI SharePoint site and pages. Create training materials and develop curriculum; lead trainings on quality improvement tools.
