About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide emergency medical care in a hospital Emergency Department setting.

The provider will independently assess and manage patients within their scope of practice and granted clinical privileges, while collaborating with on call physicians and the broader healthcare team to ensure timely, high quality patient care.

Responsibilities:- 

• Obtain complete, detailed & accurate patient histories
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations & document findings
• Evaluate patients & establish appropriate diagnoses
• Order & interpret diagnostic testing
• Develop & implement evidence based treatment plans
• Prescribe medications & initiate appropriate therapies within scope of practice
• Arrange hospital admissions & discharges as appropriate
• Perform hospital rounds & document patient progress
• Provide patient education & follow up guidance
• Perform or assist with routine laboratory, therapeutic & selected surgical procedures
• Assess & manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Communicate with the Emergency Department on call physician as needed
• Respond to Rapid Response & Code Team activations when available
• Participate in organizational teams & process improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation & required oversight records
• Practice in accordance with credentialing requirements, clinical privileges & applicable standards

Start Date: October 26, 2026
• 6 PM–6 AM night shifts
• Every 3rd weekend coverage
• Variable holiday coverage
• Contract opportunity for 3–6 months
• Emergency Department coverage

Requirements

Physician Assistant

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited university
• Current NCCPA certification
• Current DEA certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Current NRP certification, if applicable
• Current ATLS certification required for Emergency Department coverage
• Emergency Department experience required

APRN

• Current APRN credentials appropriate for the assignment
• Current DEA certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS, NRP & ATLS certifications as applicable to Emergency Department coverage
• Emergency Department experience required
