Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Petoskey, Michigan. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Stepdown Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/19/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: The Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a specialized cardiac care unit within a healthcare facility. The role involves utilizing clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions, primarily focusing on patients recovering from procedures such as Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA), stents, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. The RN on this unit will play a vital role in caring for post-operative open heart surgery patients, heart failure management, and electrophysiology study patients. Job Details: Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, 1+ year of Step Down Unit experience, proficiency in cardiac care, willingness to float to similar units, and ability to cover travel assignments. Preferred Qualifications: Skills checklist completed within the last year, experience with national clinical trials management, and familiarity with cardiology procedures. Additional Information: The position enforces a strict attendance policy beginning on 06/01/2024. Absences or tardiness exceeding three instances may result in immediate termination, barring extenuating circumstances such as communicable diseases or hospitalization with supporting evidence.
