MISSION:

RCMA Mulberry Community Academy, a Title I Charter School in Polk County, is seeking an energetic and dependable Charter Academy Cafeteria Supervisor!

Our expanding K-4 Charter School is located in Mulberry, Florida. Our school will serve approximately 200 children, our small size allows us to serve our students and their families on a personal level.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The position is responsible for the coordination of the food service program (breakfast, lunch, and after-school snack) with the Food Service Manager and Director of Operations for the Charter Academies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.

1. Prepares high-quality, nutritious food by following the centralized menus, using effective meal production techniques, following standardized recipes, and utilizing batch cooking techniques.

1. Plans, purchases, and places all orders for food and supplies according to the centralized menu in a timely manner and in accordance with delivery schedules.

1. Receives all goods, checks goods for quality and condition, and upon delivery, compares against delivery invoices. Mark and dates goods received using the FIFO method.

1. Completes and submits daily reports, invoices, paperwork, and production records. Opens and closes the food service facility daily. Completes monthly inventory.

1. Implements the requirements of the USDA, National School Breakfast and Lunch Program, and the childcare food program, if applicable.

1. Complies with the policies of RCMA, including the procedures of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) to prevent food safety problems. Completes the weekly HACCP Kitchen Operation and Staff Form.

1. Maintains high standards of sanitation. Follows all Health Department regulations, corrects any violations immediately, and posts inspection reports.

1. Interviews, schedules, supervises, trains, and evaluates Charter Academy Cook employees.

1. Identifies training needs and provides in-service training programs for employees.

1. Provides a safe and healthy work environment for employees. Reports all accidents to the academy office and state office as instructed by Worker’s Compensation procedures.

1. Meets with food service staff on a regular basis.

1. Meets with students to identify menu preferences.

1. Meets with Charter Academy Coordinator of Wellness and NSLP on a regular basis.
2. Keeps Charter Academy Director and Charter Academy Principals advised on USDA National School Lunch Program matters.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty element satisfactorily while exercising independent judgment and discretion. • Within 30 days of employment, a Food Handler's Certificate or the ICN Food Safety Course must be obtained. The course for the Food Handlers Certificate can be provided by a certified Charter Academy employee, and the ICN Food Safety Course can be taken online.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• One to three years of experience in the kitchen.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be representative of the community being served.
• Able to work flexible hours, occasional evenings, and varying daytime shifts during weekdays. Some weekend work is required.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Florida driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to RCMA’s insurance.
• Ability to work with degreed and non-degreed professional staff and families.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Experience with economically disadvantaged families in a community setting. High School diploma or GED.
