Research Associate – Biological Structure Annotation Specialist (Biocurator) Job Summary : The RCSB Protein Data Bank at Rutgers University in Piscataway offers an opening for a Biological Structure Annotation Specialist (Biocurator) to analyze, curate, and validate macromolecular structures from the expanding structural biology community. Key Responsibilities Provide expert deposition, validation, biocuration, and remediation services to data depositors worldwide. Maintain data quality and uniformity within the PDB archive. Develop and promote community-endorsed data standards for structural biology data. Analyze, curate, and validate macromolecular structures from the PDB community. Participate in projects with significant scientific impact, communicating daily with researchers and engaging in outreach and training activities. Qualifications PhD in a relevant field; experience in structural biology required. Strong knowledge of cryo-electron microscopy (3DEM) to curate and validate structures. Experience with small molecule chemistry is a plus. Experience in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and computer scripting is advantageous. Experience with Linux computer systems is advantageous. Compensation & Benefits Salaried at $93,077-$103,077 per year.
