Anesthesia Veterinary Technician

Our Anesthesia team is growing here at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Framingham, MA! We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at our brand new hospital! Schedule: 4x10 schedule with rotating on‑call expectations. Pay: $24.25 - $49.00 / hour. This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. As An Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, You Will Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs. Monitor anesthesia, troubleshoot anesthetic complications, and make appropriate interventions. Perform intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance. Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort. Understand normal vital parameters and alert doctor when abnormal. Set up intravenous fluids and CRI’s. Continuously expand knowledge and skillset: advanced anesthetic skills including epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management. Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors. Be comfortable with medical math. Take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre‑op, monitoring, post‑op, and recovery). Manage appointments, obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc. Disconnect and reconnect patients from intravenous fluids aseptically. Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload. Why BluePearl? Our passion is pets.
