Essential Duties and Responsibilities Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages efficiently, following established steps of service. Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards. Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests. Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients. Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences. If needed, demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens. Communicate directly with back‑of‑house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated. Exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate ability to get along well with others. Remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff. Collect tickets and follow proper cash‑handling procedures. Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests. Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared. Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor. Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period; keep area clean and neat while meeting sanitation standards. Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
