AR Sales Tax Specialist

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team in Buford. This role is crucial in supporting the company’s tax-related objectives and ensuring compliance during sales tax audits. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying tax exemptions according to state regulations and maintaining compliance across all customer accounts.

Responsibilities

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, job duties include:

• Research and validate incoming tax exemption certificates to ensure compliance with state regulations.
• Code customer accounts as exempt upon successful validation of presented certificates.
• Process tax credits accurately to customer accounts or back to credit cards as warranted.
• Assist customers by researching and validating tax rates as requested.
• Investigate sales tax overpayments and expedite refunds when necessary.
• Provide support to customers and sales representatives regarding state-specific tax rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Sales Tax Manager on projects and audits related to sales tax compliance.

Skills:

• 2 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable environment, preferably in a Business-to-Business context.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge; skilled in 10-key data entry.
• Demonstrated organizational and prioritization abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting time constraints.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
