Limited-Term Assistant Professor Posting Number: F-PT/LT02007P Department: Franklin-Mathematics Effective Start Date: 08/01/2026 Job Closing Date: Open until filled Employment Type: Faculty (EX) Tenure Status: Non‑Tenure Track Contract Type: None (position not eligible for annual contract) Position Summary The Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia seeks highly‑qualified candidates to fill Limited Term Assistant Professor positions beginning in August 2026. This non‑tenure track position involves both teaching and research. Teaching duties consist of three four‑hour courses or four three‑hour courses per year, all at the Precalculus and Calculus I & II levels with class sizes capped at 20‑23 students. The incumbent is expected to participate in the research life of the Department, pursuing an original research program. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Mathematics or an equivalent foreign degree. Preferred Qualifications and Competencies Demonstrated potential for high‑quality teaching in university mathematics courses. Potential to conduct original, significant research in mathematics or a related area. Additional Requirements Limited‑term faculty may be renewed annually for up to two years. Reappointment beyond the second year requires pre‑approval by the Provost.
