Job Description Summary

Analyze, interpret, and prepare retirement plan documents. Consult on plan design changes, regulatory requirements, and complex document matters while preparing and maintaining plan, amendment, and funding documents for 401(a), 401(k), and 403(b) plans.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain retirement plan documents, summary plan descriptions, amendments, resolutions, and related funding documents for new and existing clients.
• Analyze and consult on complex plan design changes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations while supporting client goals and objectives.
• Partner with clients, advisors, attorneys, Client Management, Transition/Installation teams, and other operational areas to resolve plan document and compliance-related issues.
• Review and analyze plan mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions, and other complex transactions to ensure accrued benefits are protected and plan documents align with administrative capabilities.
• Research retirement plan compliance and design issues and provide recommendations on complex client situations and escalations.
• Support plan terminations by preparing required amendments, resolutions, participant communications, and regulatory filings.
• Identify potential operational, compliance, and business risks associated with plan document provisions and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Assist in the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes, including plan restatement and amendment projects.
• Serve as a technical resource for retirement plan document and plan design matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Five years of pension/retirement plan experience.
• In-depth knowledge of retirement plan regulations, plan document interpretation, and plan design for qualified retirement plans.
• Experience analyzing complex plan design provisions and evaluating the operational impact of plan document changes.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft, review, and explain technical retirement plan concepts to diverse audiences.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Transamerica retirement plan products and administrative capabilities.
• Experience drafting retirement plan documents or supporting plan document services in a recordkeeping, TPA, consulting, legal, or compliance environment.
• Experience using retirement plan document systems such as ASC, ftwilliam, Relius, or similar document-generation platforms.
• Experience supporting legislative restatement projects, required amendments, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• ASPPA or related industry credentials such as QKA, QKC, or TGPC
• Experience with 401(a), 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), and/or nonqualified deferred compensation plans.

Working Conditions

• Hybrid (In Office: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays)

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $67,000 - $88,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
