Position Summary We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a wide range of imaging, laboratory, radiopharmaceutical, and patient care responsibilities in the Molecular Imaging and Nuclear Medicine department. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Operate gamma cameras for SPECT, PET, PEM, and other modalities including MRI, CT, and bone densitometry imaging. Procure, prepare, calibrate, and dispense radiopharmaceuticals and adjunct non‑radiopharmaceutical medications under the direction of authorized users. Perform laboratory assessments of radiopharmaceutical quality, including radiochemical and radionuclidic purity, sterility, and physicochemical parameters. Operate laboratory equipment such as scales, centrifuges, pipettes, flow hoods, xenon traps, well counters, and probes. Collect and analyze biological samples (urine, blood, saliva, etc.) to determine biodistribution of radiopharmaceuticals. Assist in radiotherapeutic procedures and administer non‑radiopharmaceutical agents via oral, topical, and IV routes. Prepare patients for exams, ensuring comfort and professionalism throughout the procedure. Document studies accurately, including ICD‑9 codes and demographic information for billing and record‑keeping. Adhere to radiation safety regulations, perform contamination monitoring, and destroy radioactive waste according to policy. Assist in IV line placement, blood glucose monitoring, and conduct training for students and staff. Participate in on‑call shifts, after‑hours work, and cross‑departmental assignments as needed. Maintain current medical licenses, certifications, and annual safety training. Use the Nuclear Medicine Information System and related hospital information systems to record data and communicate with the care team. Provide customer‑service oriented patient care and report concerns to supervisors. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in a scientific field with a certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology, or an Associate’s with two years of experience. Certification upon hire (within first year) and ongoing renewal in Nuclear Medicine (NMTCB or ARRT (NM)) and at least one advanced certification (NMTCB(PET), NMTCB(NCT), ARRT(CT), ARRT(MR)). Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License. NIH Human Subjects Protection in Research Certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR. Proficiency with cross‑sectional anatomy, medical terminology, and the use of NMIS, RIS, and HIS. Strong inter‑professional communication and the ability to manage call schedules, emergencies, and patient safety. Compensation and Benefits Indicative salary range: $49.88 to $63.27 per hour, based on qualification level.
