Medical Assistant Dermatology

Job Summary:

The Dermatology Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) supports outpatient dermatology clinic operations by preparing patients, assisting with procedures, and performing clinical tasks such as vital signs collection and specimen handling. This role requires certification as an MA-C, experience with EPIC charting, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. The position is temp-to-hire with an expectation to convert to permanent employment.

Responsibilities:

Obtain and record patient vital signs accurately.
Prepare patients for exams including positioning, draping, and documenting history, medications, and allergies.
Set up and assist with dermatology procedures such as biopsies, dressing changes, suture removal, and wound care.
Prepare aseptic and sterile procedure trays following proper techniques.
Collect, label, and handle specimens appropriately.
Room patients efficiently to maintain clinic flow.
Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control standards.
Float to other clinic locations as needed for coverage, including West Seattle, Bellevue, and Issaquah.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential (other MA certifications not accepted).
Minimum 6 months experience as an MA-C in an adult or pediatric outpatient clinic; dermatology experience preferred.
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
Reliable personal transportation; public transit is not acceptable.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience working in dermatology outpatient settings.
Familiarity with dermatology-specific procedures and aseptic techniques.

Special Considerations:

No on-call requirements.
Possible floating to other clinic locations for coverage, but not on a daily basis.
Candidate must be willing and able to convert to permanent employment if offered.
Open to first-time travelers and candidates located within Washington State.

Scheduling:

Monday through Friday schedule with 8-hour shifts.
Weekends off.
Contract length of 13 weeks with potential for permanent placement.
