Occupational Therapist School Setting in Wapato, WA

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a dedicated school-based Occupational Therapist. Beginning August 25th, 2026 and running through June 11th, 2027, you'll play a key role in empowering young learners to grow and achieve their goals.


In this role, you'll work with a manageable, focused caseload of 11 students, providing direct services and assessments as outlined in each Individualized Education Program (IEP). Six of these students will receive 20-minute weekly sessions, totaling approximately 3 hours; the position averages 5 hours per week, with the possibility for additional hours based on evaluation and departmental needs.


Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist license and credentials for school-based practice.
• Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with special education teams, teachers, and families.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills for IEPs and necessary reporting.
• Comfortable adapting to evolving caseload needs, including assessments and participating in IEP meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy services as outlined in students' IEPs.
• Assess and document student progress, adapting plans as necessary.
• Conduct evaluations for eligibility and re-evaluations, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate progress and recommendations clearly to families and staff.
• Support students' skill development for participation in academic and functional activities.
