RN/Unit Manager

Job Title

Responsibilities:

Oversees the quality of nursing care on assigned unit.

Delegates responsibility for direct resident care activities to Nurses assigned on unit.

Supervises, evaluates, counsels, and coaches care members on assigned units.

Identifies and resolves problems at the unit level.

Keeps Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of resident's status through verbal communication and written reports.

Makes daily rounds and checks acutely ill residents, admissions, and follows up on residents.

Performs periodic audit of charting and documentation.

Assures proper execution of physician's orders.

Deals effectively, professionally, and tactfully with resident and family concerns.

Submits weekly and monthly reports on statistics, meetings, and other pertinent information.

Attends continuing education classes, seminars, workshops to maintain professional competency.

Participates in on-call rotation with other nurse managers as assigned.

Qualifications:

Current NY State Registered Nurse License

2 years of Nursing Administration experience preferred

Education:

Associate Degree

BSN Preferred
