Lead Software Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Working knowledge of load balancing and service orchestration in on-premises and public cloud environments
• Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Python or Java
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Practical experience with cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes
• In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform
• Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing, or troubleshooting, and setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; ability to coach engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Ability to contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Preferred: Experience operating Kubernetes, such as AWS EKS, at scale in financial organizations, with attention to scaling, resiliency, security, monitoring, and audit trails
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code products, preferably Terraform
• Preferred: Experience with one or more public cloud platforms, ideally AWS
• Preferred: DevOps experience is an advantage

• Align technical strategy with partner teams across the bank to deliver a coherent experience for Athena developers
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, using creative approaches to solve technical problems
• Partner with a global engineering team to transform the Athena Core Platform into a resilient, scalable, cloud-based architecture
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issue remediation and improve the operational stability of applications and systems
• Lead Software Engineering communities of practice to build awareness and adoption of emerging technologies
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing
• Use software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered by automation
