Job Summary  

The Curriculum Coordinator – Specialist supports the Early Education Center by ensuring the quality,
consistency, and effective implementation of curriculum across classrooms. This role provides
instructional coaching, supports teacher development, and monitors child outcomes to ensure alignment
with Montessori-informed practices, early learning standards, and accreditation requirements.
This position exercises independent judgment in curriculum oversight, instructional support, and program
quality, contributing to the overall success of the EEC program.

Essential Functions (ADA)  

Curriculum Development & Alignment  

• Research, adapt, and maintain curriculum consistent with Montessori-informed, research-based practices. 

• Ensure lesson plans and classroom activities align with early learning standards, accreditation requirements, and developmental benchmarks. 

• Maintain curriculum resources and materials for teacher use. 

Teacher Support & Professional Development  

• Provide instructional coaching and modeling in classrooms. 

• Support Teacher I staff with foundational lesson planning and curriculum implementation. 

• Assist with staff training sessions focused on curriculum and child development practices. 

Assessment & Child Outcomes  

• Monitor classroom assessments and child development benchmarks to ensure progress. 

• Compile data for Director review and reporting. 

• Collaborate with teachers to identify children in need of additional support or enrichment. 

Family Engagement Support  

• Assist teachers in preparing progress reports, parent communication tools, and curriculum-based family events. 

• Provide resources to help families understand Montessori practices and early learning expectations. 

Program Quality & Compliance  

• Support preparation for licensing, accreditation, and quality rating visits. 

• Help ensure consistent curriculum implementation across classrooms. 

• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives led by the Director. 

Qualifications  

Required  

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field. 

• 3+ years of classroom teaching experience in early childhood education. 

• Knowledge of Montessori pedagogy and evidence-based early learning practices. 

• Strong understanding of child development and curriculum design. 

• Effective oral and written communication skills. 

Preferred  

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. 

• Experience in coaching, mentoring, or professional development for teachers. 

• Familiarity with state licensing, accreditation, and early learning assessments. 

• Bilingual (English/Spanish). 

Environmental and Physical Requirements  

• Ability to move about the classroom and center frequently, including walking, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting, running, or crawling as needed to engage with children and ensure safety. 

• Ability to handle classroom materials, tools, and supplies using hands and fingers. 

• Ability to lift, carry, and move classroom items or children weighing up to 30 pounds. 

• Ability to supervise and participate in daily outdoor play, except when temperatures exceed 90&degree;F or fall below 40&degree;F. 

• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colors. 

• Work involves exposure to normal childhood illnesses and a high risk of occupational exposure to human blood or other potentially infectious materials. 

• Frequent administrative tasks include sitting at a computer, filing, and completing documentation.

• Contribution to successful licensing, accreditation, and quality rating reviews.
