Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized critical care nursing to adult and occasional pediatric patients in a 9-bed ICU setting. Deliver high-quality patient care while adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Administer comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients based on physicians' orders and established care plans.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and clinical status to identify urgent changes needing intervention.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient treatment and progress.
• Adhere to staffing ratios, including 2:1 patient-to-nurse and up to 4:1 during overflow, maintaining patient safety at all times.
• Participate in charge nurse duties, with additional compensation, and provide support across departments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with PALS certification standards and maintain pediatric care experience.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and current PALS certification.
• Demonstrate minimum pediatric and adult ICU nursing experience.
• Possess strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Exhibit ability to manage a 12-hour shift and adapt to floating assignments.
• Show excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
