Qualifications & Skills:

• 2-10 years of attorney experience; deposition or trial experience preferred.

• Knowledge of legal procedures and processes related to case sign-ups, depositions, and testimony.

• Strong legal research and writing skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.

• Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.

• Ability to learn and retain complex industrial and medical information.

• Compassion and sensitivity when working with seriously ill clients.

• Adaptability and responsiveness to client needs and health circumstances.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients injured by asbestos exposure.

• Prepare and manage assigned asbestos disease cases in a team environment.

• Travel extensively, approximately 80% of the time, to meet with clients, prospective clients, and witnesses throughout the United States.

• Conduct client and witness interviews both in person and by telephone.

• Gather and analyze information from Social Security, medical, military, union, and other records.

• Prepare for and conduct fact-witness depositions.

• Summarize testimony obtained during fact-witness depositions.

Education & Licensing

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois.

• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
