Community Development & Planning Director

The City of Senoia is seeking a Community Development and Planning Director to lead its planning, zoning, land development, and economic development efforts. Responsibilities Lead long‑range planning, community engagement, and development review processes. Oversee zoning administration, land use policies, and capital project management. Collaborate with the City Manager, Mayor, Council, and advisory boards to align development initiatives with the city’s strategic vision. Serve as a liaison to the Downtown Development Authority, Historic Preservation Committee, and other governing bodies. Balance economic growth with preservation of historic character and community identity. Maintain high standards of customer service for residents, developers, and businesses. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, or a related field. Minimum five (5) years of municipal government experience with leadership or senior‑management responsibilities. Strong knowledge of zoning, land use, development regulations, and capital project management. Experience working with elected officials, boards, and commissions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
