Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) supporting elementary students for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time contract position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about helping young learners thrive by fostering independence and building essential skills in a supportive educational environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active California Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant license required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, therapists, and families
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet individual student needs
- Commitment to maintaining detailed progress notes and contributing to IEP documentation
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support students’ development of fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills within classroom and small group settings
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and related service teams to implement targeted interventions
- Assist with the creation and adaptation of learning materials and equipment to promote access and participation
- Document student progress, contribute input for IEP meetings, and communicate regularly with team members and families
