Patient Access Representative

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for facilitating the coordination of scheduled outpatient services and programs. This role involves completing and verifying patient registration information, collecting financial responsibilities, and providing clerical support. The representative ensures efficient scheduling, appointment confirmation, and communication with patients while maintaining accurate records and delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for facilitating the coordination of scheduled outpatient services and programs. This role involves completing and verifying patient registration information, collecting financial responsibilities, and providing clerical support. The representative ensures efficient scheduling, appointment confirmation, and communication with patients while maintaining accurate records and delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate patient admission and discharge processes including collection and verification of patient information and financial data.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments for outpatient services.
- Confirm patient appointments and provide appropriate instructions to patients.
- Answer a high volume of phone calls, addressing patient inquiries and providing customer service.
- Maintain and update patient files and information accurately.
- Enter status changes and other data into computer systems.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned to support department operations.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to handle a large volume of phone calls efficiently.
- Basic clerical and data entry skills.
- Experience scheduling radiology appointments or similar outpatient services.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures.
- Work is performed in a fast-paced outpatient setting requiring strong communication and organizational skills.
- May require multitasking and managing competing priorities during peak hours.
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Five 8-hour shifts per week.
