Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for an Estimator , located in Irvington, NJ. The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project documents and developing accurate estimates for custom architectural millwork and related construction work.

The Estimator will analyze drawings, specifications, quantities, labor requirements, materials, and vendor pricing to establish project costs. This position will work cross-functionally with Project Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and other project stakeholders to support accurate budgeting and successful project execution.

• Review architectural drawings, millwork shop drawings, specifications, schedules, and other project documents to determine project scope and estimating requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for custom millwork, casework, cabinetry, fixtures, and related architectural components.
• Develop accurate estimates for materials, labor, fabrication, finishing, delivery, installation, and other project-related costs.
• Obtain, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations for materials, products, and services.
• Verify quantities, dimensions, material requirements, exclusions, assumptions, and other estimating information for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify discrepancies, omissions, scope gaps, and potential cost risks within project documents before estimates are finalized.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to obtain current material pricing, availability, and lead-time information.
• Work with Production and Engineering to understand fabrication requirements, labor needs, material requirements, and manufacturing considerations.
• Communicate with Project Management regarding project scope, cost impacts, estimating assumptions, and project changes.
• Assist with budget analysis and provide accurate cost information to support project planning, development, and decision-making.
• Prepare and maintain organized estimating files, historical pricing information, takeoff documentation, and supporting records.
• Assist in preparing proposals and other documentation required for project bids, ensuring estimates are completed accurately and within required bid deadlines.
• Review project changes and revisions to determine potential cost impacts and update estimates as needed.
• Support value-engineering efforts by identifying alternative materials, methods, or solutions when appropriate.
• Monitor changes in material costs, labor requirements, and market conditions that may affect project estimates, and follow Bestmark National's quality-control and company procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor and Production Manager.

• Experience estimating custom architectural millwork and casework is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of millwork materials, fabrication methods, and installation practices.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft suite
• Experience with estimating, takeoff, or project-management software is preferred.
• Able to work independently and effectively with a team with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work overtime when needed.
