Insight Global is seeking a Workday Project Manager (Financials) for a top municipal government client. This role focuses on leading Workday Financials initiatives that support governmental finance operations, audit readiness, and compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong project management experience within Workday, the ability to partner closely with stakeholders, and a proven track record of delivering complex system projects in a public-sector environment. This individual will drive Workday optimization, ensure system alignment with reporting and audit needs, and provide clear communication to leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years Project Management experience supporting Workday Financials

Proven experience managing Workday implementations, enhancements, or optimization projects

Strong understanding of Workday Financials modules (GL, Accounting, Reporting)

Municipal or governmental systems experience

Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders (IT, Finance, Auditors, Vendors)

Hands-on experience managing project plans, timelines, risks, and deliverables

Familiarity with financial close, audit readiness, and compliance processes

Ability to translate finance/business requirements into technical Workday solutions

Strong communication skills with executive-level and finance leadership Background supporting government finance or accounting teams

Workday advanced reporting, dashboards, or data governance experience

Prior experience with ACFR, Single Audit, or GASB-related system support

Experience partnering with external auditors from a systems/data perspective

Workday certifications

Strong documentation, process improvement, and change management experience

Advanced Excel or financial systems reporting tools experience
