Job Description

This role focuses on manual and semi-automated prepack operations in a fast-paced production environment handling small LEGO® bricks and associated parts. You will work on an assembly line to place the correct pieces into packaging, support automated processes on the evening shift, and help maintain consistent production quality and output. The position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and comfort with repetitive tasks, performance metrics, and long shifts in a highly organized, state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities

• Manually place small LEGO® bricks and associated parts into bags and packaging at a designated work station, ensuring the correct pieces are included in each pack.
• Operate and support more automated packaging processes on the evening shift, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Work on a timed assembly line where performance is measured by the speed and accuracy of placing pieces into appropriate packaging, often handling boxes within seconds.
• Rotate through all positions on the assigned production line, including manual packing, sitting and standing stations, and end-of-line palletizing responsibilities.
• Maintain machines in good operating condition by supporting basic cleaning tasks and reporting any issues or irregularities promptly.
• Keep the work area tidy, organized, and clean in accordance with 5S and other housekeeping standards.
• Ensure accurate production reporting for the assigned line, including performance metrics and hourly production results.
• Meet or exceed standard hourly production targets and contribute to a constant, uninterrupted flow of the line, avoiding unplanned downtime.
• Perform quality inspections and checks to ensure all products meet the quality needs and standards of the LEGO® group, reporting any issues or detected failures immediately.
• Support line operation reporting activities such as TPM, 5S, quality assessments, line release audits, and other production documentation requirements.
• Assist with changeovers between products, including line setup, material changes, and quality verifications.
• Handle materials and finished goods, including loading boxes onto pallets and moving product as needed within the production area.
• Collaborate with peers to maintain excellent communication and teamwork, following the values and expectations set for the production team.
• Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and process guidelines, including dress code and facility rules, to protect product integrity and personal safety.
• Consistently demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality, understanding that performance and attendance history influence long-term opportunities.
• Participate in training and performance feedback processes designed to build skills, improve results, and support progression into more automated or advanced roles over time.

Essential Skills

• 1–2 years of experience in production or manufacturing, with direct involvement in fast-moving, performance-driven environments.
• Hands-on experience working on an assembly line or production line performing repetitive tasks with small parts.
• Demonstrated ability to handle small parts with strong manual dexterity, including grabbing and pinching motions away from the body.
• Previous experience standing and/or walking for 8–12 hour shifts, including continuous standing, walking, and turning side-to-side.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when loading full boxes onto pallets and to consistently lift product up to 33 lbs during regular tasks.
• Experience in environments where performance is measured and monitored, such as production, manufacturing, or fast-moving service industries.
• Experience with basic packaging, packing orders, labeling, material handling, and warehouse production tasks.
• Familiarity with general labor and production activities, including assembly, inventory handling, loading, and mechanical-oriented tasks.
• Proven job tenure of 1–2 years in previous roles without unexplained large gaps in employment.
• Ability to maintain focus and accuracy during repetitive tasks over long shifts while meeting crisp and constant performance measures.
• Comfort working under time pressure on an assembly line where output and quality are continuously monitored.
• Capability to follow detailed work instructions, quality standards, and reporting requirements reliably.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production-related industries that move quickly, such as fast food or other high-volume environments, is highly valued.
• Exposure to operating or working around production machines and equipment, even at a basic level.
• Understanding of quality inspection processes and adherence to established quality standards.
• Familiarity with concepts such as TPM, 5S, quality assessments, and line release audits is an advantage.
• Ability to adapt to rotating responsibilities on the line, including periods of standing, sitting, and palletizing.
• Strong attention to detail when handling tiny parts to ensure correct counts and accurate packaging.
• Reliable attendance record, with minimal infractions or occurrences, to support eligibility for long-term hire and progression.
• Willingness to learn more automated processes after conversion to permanent status and to apply for roles at expanded facilities as operations grow.
• Comfort working in a structured environment with clear rules regarding personal items, dress code, and production floor conduct.
• Motivation to grow within a structured career path that offers progression in responsibilities and compensation over time

Work Environment

The work takes place in a very clean, climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility in Colonial Heights that houses packaging operations, warehouse space, and a dedicated training center. The larger site will continue to expand, adding more equipment and square footage, and permanent team members will have the opportunity to apply for roles at an additional location as operations grow and become more automated. This is the first production group on the night shift for the Joker Manual Line, so reliability and consistency are especially important. You will work 12-hour shifts in an assembly line format with rotations that include approximately four hours of standing, four hours of sitting, and time at the end of the line to palletize materials. The facility is climate controlled and provides a canteen and breakroom with food and drink machines, as well as cubbies for personal belongings. Strict production floor rules apply: pockets must be empty; cell phones must be kept in vehicles and are not allowed on the production floor; candy, cigarettes, and even empty wrappers are prohibited. There is a defined dress code that supports safety and product quality: no jewelry, phones, fake nails, fake lashes, or nail polish, and no hoodies are permitted. Team members will wear the same color t-shirt and are required to wear appropriate work pants rather than leggings or sweatpants. The environment is structured, organized, and designed to support high-quality, safe production with clear expectations for conduct, cleanliness, and performance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.80 - $21.80/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
