Salary Range: $283,541 - $300,370 annually

Our organization is seeking full-time OBGYN Hospitalist faculty members at the Assistant Professor level within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Successful candidates will join the obstetrics and gynecology call group, playing a vital role in patient care, medical education, and research. This includes teaching and supervising medical students and trainees. The primary focus will be on inpatient clinical care at our Hyde Park campus.

Appointees will be part of the Section of General Obstetrics & Gynecology and will work closely with midwives, Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists, Neonatology, Anesthesiology, and physicians from the Complex Gynecologic Surgery, Comprehensive Gynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology sections. Responsibilities include:

• Providing high-quality inpatient clinical care
• Engaging in medical education and training
• Participating in collaborative care with various specialists

The Family Birth Center at our institution is a high-complexity, high-acuity unit featuring a Level III NICU and an OB Emergency Department, supported by an in-house OB hospitalist model (typically two physicians available 24/7). We facilitate the delivery of over 2,800 babies each year. Shifts for OB hospitalists are available in 12 or 24-hour formats. Additionally, our inpatient Gynecology Hospitalist Service operates during weekdays in-house and handles night calls from home, with the expectation of attending to emergency Gynecology surgeries as needed.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Possess a medical doctorate or equivalent
• Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois
• Be Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology

We particularly encourage applicants with expertise in gynecologic surgery, inpatient obstetrics (including vaginal delivery of twins, complex cesarean sections, and operative vaginal deliveries), as well as experience in teaching residents and medical students. Candidates interested in focusing solely on Obstetrics or Gynecology will also be considered.
