Make a meaningful impact by supporting 6th through 8th grade students through expert occupational therapy services in a dynamic educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule, working alongside dedicated educators in both general education co-taught and self-contained programs. Serving at district sites near Palatine, IL, as well as one off-campus placement, you’ll deliver targeted interventions that foster student growth and independence.
Key Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (master’s or doctorate required)
- Completion of required fieldwork and clinical OT training
- Successful completion of the NBCOT national certification exam with verification sent to the state of Illinois
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Illinois OT license, including continuing education requirements and applicable fees
- Active OT state license in hand
- School-based OT experience preferred
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and experience in educational settings appreciated
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to 6th-8th grade students during school hours, Monday through Friday, for 36.25 hours weekly
- Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and families within general education co-taught and self-contained classrooms
- Travel as needed between district sites and a nearby off-campus location to support students
- Participate in student assessment, goal development, and documentation for IEPs
- Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive student support
