Senior Product Marketing Manager
$130.6k - $180.5kExpel
You know great products don't sell themselves. The best ones are brought to market by people who deeply understand their customers, can simplify complex technology, and know how to tell stories that resonate with technical buyers. If you're passionate about cybersecurity, enjoy partnering across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing, and love translating technical capabilities into clear customer value, we'd love to talk. At Expel, we're redefining how organizations approach Managed Detection and Response (MDR). In a market crowded with vendors focused on products, we focus on outcomes. Our customers trust us to help them detect, investigate, and respond to threats faster, and Product Marketing plays a critical role in helping tell that story. As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you'll own product marketing for a key slice of Expel's portfolio, our threat hunting, phishing, and add-on services, alongside the orchestration and automation areas of our MDR service. You'll partner closely with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and executive stakeholders to develop messaging, launch new capabilities, enable customer-facing teams, and create compelling content that helps customers understand why Expel is different. This role blends real ownership with hands-on execution. You'll drive strategy and GTM plans for your focus areas while partnering closely with a small, talented product marketing team. This isn't a role where you'll be flying solo, but it is one where you'll be trusted to run your own areas of the business. What Expel can do for you Give you the opportunity to influence how one of the industry's leading MDR providers tells its story. Surround you with collaborative Product, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Engineering teams that genuinely enjoy building together. Give you the freedom to experiment with new messaging, launch strategies, and AI-powered workflows that help us move faster. Let you own meaningful initiatives while continuing to grow your product marketing expertise. Provide the opportunity to influence go-to-market strategy while remaining close to customers and products. What you can do for Expel Own product marketing for Expel's threat hunting, phishing, and add-on services portfolio, developing messaging, positioning, and GTM plans that establish these as recognized differentiators against competitors like CrowdStrike, Arctic Wolf, and ReliaQuest. Partner closely with Product Management throughout the lifecycle of your focus areas, from roadmap through launch, to drive successful releases and customer adoption. Refresh and maintain core messaging platforms and website/FAQ content for your focus areas, replacing outdated positioning with something sharper. Deliver complete, on-time GTM launch packages, messaging, content, and enablement, for every release tied to your focus areas. Build and deliver sales and Customer Success enablement that helps customer-facing teams confidently position your focus areas, handle objections, and communicate customer value. Create high-quality customer-facing content including messaging frameworks, solution briefs, webpages, presentations, blogs, battlecards, and technical sales collateral. Develop and maintain competitive intelligence, messaging, battlecards, and market analysis, that helps sellers win throughout the sales cycle. Turn market, competitive, and customer insights into recommendations that directly inform roadmap prioritization decisions. Partner with Marketing to launch content and demand-generation programs tied to each planned release in your focus areas. Launch prospect and customer engagement programs that grow qualified pipeline and expansion for your product areas. Spend time with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders to understand buyer challenges, market dynamics, and evolving security priorities. Represent Expel through webinars, customer engagements, analyst briefings, and industry events as a subject matter expert on your focus areas. Leverage AI tools such as Gemini and Claude to accelerate research, messaging development, competitive analysis, and content creation. What you should bring with you Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify highly technical cybersecurity concepts for multiple audiences. Solid experience in Product Marketing, Product Management, Technical Marketing, Sales Engineering, or a similar go-to-market role. Experience working within cybersecurity or a closely related technical B2B SaaS environment. Experience marketing cybersecurity technologies such as MDR, XDR, SIEM, SecOps, cloud security, identity security, or adjacent markets is a strong plus. A track record running product launches big and small, knowing who to bring in and when, and owning stakeholder management from kickoff through release. The ability to quickly learn a new product space and translate customer, persona, and market insights into GTM strategies and content plans. Comfort driving alignment across technical PMs, Sales, Marketing, and business stakeholders, and delivering enablement to internal and external audiences, including customers and analysts. Demonstrated skill building messaging and positioning that speaks to key personas and differentiates Expel in the market. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while consistently delivering high-quality work. A customer-first mindset with genuine curiosity to understand buyer pain points and translate those insights into stronger messaging. Experience incorporating AI tools into day-to-day workflows to improve productivity and accelerate content development. A Bachelor's degree or a compelling story. Additional notes The base salary range for this role is between $130,600 USD and $180,500 USD + bonus eligibility and equity. We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You’ll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits. We’re only hiring those authorized to work in the United States. We do not currently sponsor immigration visas. We're an Equal Opportunity Employer: You'll receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability. We’ll ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please let us know if you need accommodation of any kind. #LI-Remote Salary Range
