EEG Technologist
Specialty: Electroencephalography (EEG)
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts
- Travel Pay: $47/hour
- Local Pay: $38/hour
We are seeking an experienced EEG Technologist to perform electroencephalographic studies and support the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for EEG testing, applying electrodes, operating EEG equipment, recording accurate diagnostic data, and maintaining detailed patient records.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of EEG Technologist experience
One of the following is required:
- One year of experience as an Electroencephalograph Technician in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Completion of an ABRET-recognized EEG training program
- Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program
- EEG Certification (ABRET)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- EEG Testing and Monitoring
- Electrode Application and Placement
- Neurological Diagnostic Procedures
- EEG Equipment Operation
- Waveform Recognition and Documentation
- Patient Preparation and Education
- Medical Record Documentation
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Quality Assurance Procedures
- Infection Prevention and Patient Safety
- Prepare patients for EEG examinations and explain testing procedures
- Apply electrodes accurately according to established protocols
- Operate and monitor EEG equipment during diagnostic studies
- Identify, document, and record EEG tracings accurately
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of EEG equipment
- Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and quality standards
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members regarding test results and patient care
