Quality Inspector (QUALI51236) – Wellington, Somerset Location: Wellington, Somerset, England Salary: £28,500 per annum Type: Permanent contract Start: Immediate start Hours: Monday–Thursday 09:00–18:00 (includes 30 minutes unpaid lunch); Friday 08:00–13:00 (no lunch) — total 39 hours per week Overview We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Carry out in-process and final inspections. Verify operators are following correct work instructions. Check calibration and condition status of jigs, gauges, Mylars and other inspection equipment. Ensure check sheets, route cards and inspection records are completed accurately; record inspection results and relevant quality data. Ensure work-in-progress and finished products are identified and traceable; report any process or quality concerns to the supervisor or compliance manager. Check packaging, labels and part identification before products are released for dispatch; ensure orders are packed and labelled in line with requirements. Identify and segregate non-conforming materials as needed. Assist with sorting and containment activities; investigate recurring quality issues using inspection observations. Identify quality improvements and apply changes; highlight defects, training needs, or documentation issues. Follow health, safety and housekeeping guidelines; report unsafe practices and maintain safe working practices. About you / Qualifications Available to start immediately and seeking permanent work. Experience in a manufacturing, production or quality role. Ability to follow drawings, work instructions, specifications and inspection standards. Experience using inspection equipment (jigs, gauges, calipers, Mylars, etc.). Strong communication and record-keeping skills; able to work with other teams to ensure efficiency. Formal training in ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 is desirable. Experience in automotive or quality-controlled manufacturing environments is advantageous. Skills & Behaviours Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail. Reliable and consistent; able to work independently and with teams. Comfortable raising concerns with Operators or Supervisors.
