Job Summary The Coordinator, Salary Administration reports to the Assistant Director of Salary Administration and supports the Human Resources Department in a range of confidential, administrative, and clerical tasks related to salary and personnel management across the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). The role functions as the subject‑matter expert for CSN and Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) payroll policies, leave and time‑off procedures, personnel transactions, employment eligibility, workday processes, collective bargaining agreements, and compliance with federal, state, and institutional statutes. Responsibilities Coordinate and execute the full employment cycle—hire to termination— for all employee types, including professional, classified, part‑time, and contingent workers/volunteers. Process salary, compensation, and benefit-related transactions in Workday and other HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance. Prepare, review, and maintain personnel records and reports, including statistical and narrative documentation for salary administration, and provide supporting correspondence. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, CAPE, Budget Services, Controller’s Office, Office of Technology Services, Academic Affairs, and Student Services. Assist with new employee orientations, salary changes, terminations, and other personnel transactions, and advise on best practices. Serve as backup for the Assistant Director of Salary Administration, exercising independent decision‑making on salary administration matters and providing expertise on leave and employment benefits. Support the implementation and testing of Workday/HCM processes, and coordinate with the Systems Office on system related activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3‑4 years of experience in salary administration or a related professional field. Experience working with collective bargaining agreements. Proficiency with HRIS systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a community college or post‑secondary institution. Experience working within an NSHE institution. Workday experience. Ideal Candidate – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of HR principles related to payroll, benefits, compensation, and salary. Familiarity with NSHE and CSN policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations. Knowledge of FLSA, USCIS I‑9 procedures, and leave regulations. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Workday, and database/reporting software. Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and at all organizational levels. Strong collaboration skills with multiple constituents to build internal and external relationships. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project‑management skills to meet changing deadlines. Exceptional interpersonal, customer‑service, and communication abilities (oral, written, listening). Capability to develop policies, procedures, and practices that improve work efficiency. Experience coordinating phase completion of multiple projects. Salary Information Administrative Faculty C – The Starting Salary is $68,063.00. This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
