Parent Peer Support Specialist

Parent Peer Support Specialist Sumner Mental Health Center, a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and Community Mental Health Center (CMHC), located in Wellington, Kansas, is looking for an individual to work in Children’s Based Services as a Parent Peer Support Specialist. The role involves providing one‑on‑one and group services to parents or guardians, and using modeling techniques to assist with the stabilization of a child and family. Responsibilities Provide one‑on‑one and group support services to parents or guardians. Model skills and techniques for stabilization of children and families. Build and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Document services in the electronic medical record. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Lived experience raising a child with severe emotional disturbance (SED), substance use disorder, or co‑occurring mental health diagnosis. Understanding of professional boundaries and ability to build collaborative relationships. Reliability and basic computer skills. Ability to learn documentation in an electronic medical record.
