Job Details Job Location: Wichita, KS 67203 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary/year Job Shift: Day Job Category: Engineering Summary The Operations Support Specialist provides engineering and operational support to manufacturing by improving production processes, coordinating shop floor resources, and ensuring efficient day‑to‑day operations. This role works closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to implement process improvements, support capital projects, and help maintain the tools, materials, and systems needed for a safe and productive manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines. Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required. Develops quality and cost‑effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles. Leads and participates in planning/executing proposed capital projects. Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff. Supports shop floor managers as required by procuring shop consumables, arranging for shop tool repairs, tool fabrication and rework coordination. Maintain a safe and positive working environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 3‑5+ years of experience (OR a Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience) in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support. Adequate level of understanding of sheet metal detail and/or assembly manufacturing process. Experience with Process, Procedure and Continuous Improvement. Strong listening skills and a willingness to learn. Ability to work cross‑functionally and across multiple locations. Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, ability to navigate through engineering models). Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions. Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed, and perform work independently without being prompted. ERP experience (Epicor or Syteline). Manufacturing/shop floor management experience. Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma experience. Understands RCCA process, can prepare a business case, process improvements. Knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP standards. CMM knowledge. Export Compliance Requirement This position may require access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies and/or documents.
