Overnight Caregiver – Dementia Experience Required

Village Caregiving – Lafayette is looking for a dependable, compassionate  Overnight Caregiver to join our team.

Previous dementia care experience is required for this position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable providing overnight care and understands the patience, consistency, and redirection techniques that may be needed when caring for an individual living with dementia.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and compassionate overnight care
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living as needed
• Provide supervision and ensure client safety throughout the night
• Assist with toileting and mobility as needed
• Provide companionship, reassurance, and appropriate redirection
• Light housekeeping related to the client’s care
• Document care and communicate any changes or concerns to the office
• Maintain a calm, safe, and comfortable environment

Requirements

• Previous dementia caregiving experience is required
• Reliable and dependable, especially for scheduled overnight shifts
• Compassionate, patient, and comfortable working independently
• Ability to assist with personal care and mobility
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet all employment requirements
