A confidential California-based IP boutique is seeking a senior litigation attorney to handle patent and trademark disputes. This is a hands-on role for a lawyer who enjoys owning matters, working directly with clients, and practicing in a lean environment focused on efficient, high-quality advocacy.

THE ROLE

- Manage and drive patent and trademark litigation matters from early case assessment through resolution

- Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and other substantive briefing

- Lead and execute discovery strategy, including written discovery and deposition preparation

- Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement discussions

- Coordinate with clients, experts, and vendors, and provide practical litigation guidance

- Contribute to case strategy, budgeting, and efficient dispute management

Southern California

Schedule:

Hybrid, in office 2 days per week

Compensation:

Collections-based (eat-what-you-kill) model, approximately one-third of collected fees

REQUIREMENTS

- 8 to 12 years of intellectual property litigation experience (patent and/or trademark)

- Active California bar admission in good standing

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

- Strong legal writing skills and demonstrated motion practice experience

- Ability to manage cases with autonomy, professionalism, and consistent client communication

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

- Portable book of business and interest in business development

- Experience handling a mix of plaintiff-side and defense-side IP disputes
