WDS Wildfire Loss Intervention Service (WDS Service) applies a comprehensive approach to reducing risk in catastrophic exposure on an industry scale, decreasing the average annual loss (AAL) for our insur er clients, and providing peace of mind to their policy holders during wildfire events. WDS provides these industry - leading services to insurer clients and their policy holdersacross a 22-state service area. Status : Exempt Reports To : Corporate Controller Job Summary The Accounting Supervisor is the primary manager over the organizational functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and revenue recognition, and Balance Sheet reconciliation. This position manages the Accounting staff including performance management assessments, hiring and disciplinary actions in accordance with WDS People Operations policies. Responsibilities support Accounting/Finance to fulfil their Department Charter. Duties and Responsibilities Supervise a staff of 2-5 Accounting Specialists in a full cycle manner including employee experience and engagement, and providing ongoing mentoring Maintain full reconciliation of Balance Sheet on a monthly basis Q.A./Q.C. work product of Accounting Specialists Subject matter expert for organization’s E.R.P., managing projects, codes, classes, etc., as well as access for employees to the system Interface with internal clients to provide exceptional quality support, enforce company policies, and provide Accounting leadership and training Supervise tax responsibilities including reporting, payment and communications with external stakeholders Work with supervisor to provide timely and accurate financial reporting Communicate with CRM’s to recognize deferred revenue in the appropriate time Manage the Credit Card system researching fraud, cancelling and reordering cards, and ensuring that proper credit levels are maintained Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises staff of 2-5 Accounting Specialists Job Requirements 1. Required Qualifications Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field Certifications – N/A Years of Experience – Five years 2. Required Skills Ability to manage a staff of 2-5 Accounting Specialists Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Detail oriented Ability to maintain confidential information Be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with little supervision Organized approach to project management and establishing departmental routines Craft and enforce departmental policies and procedures Create and defend logical arguments in a peer environment Be loyal to the organization and represent it positively both internally and externally Functional knowledge of organizational Email, word processing, and spreadsheet programs 3. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift 15-lbs.
