Program Director

New Day Recovery is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated Program Director to provide leadership and oversight for our substance use disorder recovery program in Senath, Missouri. This is an opportunity for a strong leader who is passionate about recovery, understands the importance of accountability and structure, and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals working toward long-term recovery. Position Overview The Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and day-to-day operation of the recovery program. This individual will work closely with clinical staff, recovery support staff, organizational leadership, and community partners to ensure residents receive high-quality, consistent, and compassionate care. We are looking for someone who can lead people, strengthen processes, hold teams accountable, and create an environment where both staff and residents can succeed. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of daily program operations Supervise, support, and develop program staff Establish clear expectations and promote accountability across the team Coordinate with clinical and recovery-support staff to ensure continuity of care Help develop, implement, and maintain program policies and procedures Monitor program quality, documentation, compliance, and performance Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management Assist with staff scheduling and ensure appropriate program coverage Identify operational challenges and develop practical solutions Promote a safe, respectful, structured, and recovery-focused environment Build positive relationships with residents, families, referral sources, community partners, and other stakeholders Collaborate with organizational leadership on program goals and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure services are delivered in accordance with applicable organizational, regulatory, and accreditation requirements Support crisis management and problem-solving when needed What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health/recovery environment and understands that successful programs require both compassion and accountability. Successful candidates should demonstrate: Leadership or supervisory experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, recovery services, healthcare, social services, or a related environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience managing employees and building effective teams Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems independently Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and operational leadership Commitment to treating individuals in recovery with dignity and respect Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment and recovery services preferred Why New Day Recovery?
