Job Description
An established estate planning and probate firm in the New Orleans area is looking for an Attorney to join its team. The firm has been providing high quality legal services for 20+ years and has created an excellent work environment built on collaboration, proven systems and an amazing work culture.
The attorney will be fully based out of the firm's main office on the Southshore near New Orleans with easy access to the bridge. The client base is primarily everyday families and individuals nearing retirement assisting with planning and any probate needs that arise. The current team includes one attorney and two paralegals, with plans to continue growing. The successful candidate will have a primary focus on both probate/succession and estate planning matters with a range of clients. Candidates with direct experience in this area of law will be given priority, but the firm is also open to training the right person.
Responsibilities
Manage a full caseload of Louisiana successions and estate administration matters from intake through close
Perform estate planning with clients
Meet directly with clients primarily families and individuals near or in retirement to understand their needs and guide them through the process
Work within the firm's appointment system and case management deadlines to keep a high case volume moving smoothly
Qualifications
Louisiana bar admission in good standing
Experience with probate or estate planning is preferred, but the group is also open to training attorneys with experience in other areas
Prior experience working directly with clients
A personable, friendly demeanor — this attorney will serve as a primary point of contact for clients during sensitive, personal moments in their lives
A self-starter who takes initiative, stays on top of a busy caseload without needing to be chased, and pulls their weight as part of a small, close-knit team
Compensation & Benefits
Starting salary: $90,000 minimum, but this is amendable based on experience
