Technical Project Coordinator

Job Title Technical Project Coordinator Position Overview We are looking for a detail‑oriented Technical Project Coordinator for our Kalamazoo, MI location who enjoys hands‑on work, solves problems, communicates well, and brings Knight Watch’s core values—Dedicated, Confident, Fun, Team Player, and Problem Solver—to every project. The Technical Project Coordinator will help drive control panel and automation projects from panel build through programming, commissioning, and project completion, working closely with internal teams, vendors, and site partners to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule. Key Responsibilities Panel Builds Coordinate and support the build of control panels according to project specifications and drawings, and customer standards Review panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials for accuracy and completeness Document all necessary technical information including MOD IDs, IP addresses, MAC addresses, firmware versions, and related system data Verify component selection, labeling, and wiring quality prior to shipment Track panel build progress against project timelines and flag delays early Programming Develop, test, and troubleshoot control systems both in the shop and onsite with project partners Ensure programming aligns with project scope, sequence of operations, and client requirements Maintain version control and documentation of program revisions Simulate and bench‑test logic ahead of commissioning where possible Commissioning Lead and support on‑site and remote commissioning of control systems with partners Perform functional testing, loop checks, and start‑up procedures Resolve issues identified during commissioning quickly and document resolutions Confirm systems meet performance and safety requirements before project handoff Shipping & Logistics Coordinate shipping schedules for panels and equipment to meet project deadlines, documenting and communicating tracking information Verify packing, labeling, and documentation for outgoing shipments Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or damage claims with carriers Troubleshooting With Partners & Coordination Serve as the technical point of contact for partners, vendors, and subcontractors Diagnose and resolve technical issues collaboratively with outside partners Coordinate schedules, deliverables, and expectations across all parties involved in a project Project Coordination Communicate progress, risks, and changes clearly to internal stakeholders and clients Maintain organized project documentation, records, and status updatesIdentify opportunities to work ahead of schedule and improve process efficiency Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a company match to your 401(k) Seven paid holidays each year Competitive pay and a personalized growth roadmap Paid time off for vacation, personal days, and important life moments Company phone or monthly reimbursement for your own phone Tuition reimbursement up to $1,500 per semester Skills & Traits Needed To Win Strong drive to build skills, solve hands‑on challenges, and keep improving Positive attitude and commitment to professional growth Clear communication with teammates Pride in quality work and attention to detail Ability to stay organized and manage priorities Ability to work independently and contribute to team success Confidence adapting to changing priorities and project needs Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent, with a commitment to continued learning and professional growth Controls, automation, or project coordination experience preferred Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds as part of hands‑on work Comfort using Microsoft Office applications and mobile technology to stay organized and connected Work Location & Hours Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan Schedule: Full‑time position Travel: This role is primarily based in‑office/in‑shop but requires flexibility beyond a standard schedule, including occasional out‑of‑town site visits for commissioning or troubleshooting support, occasional after‑hours meetings or calls, and general flexibility with working hours to support project deadlines as needed.
