SEO Specialist (Technical SEO, Ahrefs, SEMrush & Organic Growth) – Remote | U.S. Hours

Position Type: Full-Time, Remote Working Hours: U.S. Business Hours

At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring an SEO Specialist to improve organic search visibility, increase keyword rankings, and drive qualified inbound traffic.

This is a hands-on SEO role — not simply content publishing.

You'll work across:

Technical SEO
Keyword research
On-page optimization
Content strategy
Link building
Core Web Vitals
Analytics and reporting

You'll collaborate with content, development, and marketing teams to identify SEO opportunities, resolve technical issues, and execute strategies that translate organic visibility into measurable traffic, leads, and conversions.

You will own:

Technical SEO & Site Health

Conduct technical SEO audits using Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, SEMrush, and similar SEO auditing tools
Identify and resolve crawl errors, indexing issues, broken links, duplicate content, redirect issues, and canonicalization problems
Manage and optimize XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, structured data, and schema markup
Improve Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile performance, and site architecture
Collaborate with developers to prioritize and implement technical fixes

Keyword Research & SEO Strategy

Conduct keyword research using Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Google Keyword Planner
Identify opportunities based on search intent, competition, buyer journey, and business value
Conduct competitor and content gap analysis
Build SEO roadmaps across content, technical SEO, and website authority
Identify new opportunities for landing pages, blogs, and supporting content

On-Page SEO & Content Optimization

Optimize title tags, meta descriptions, H1–H6 structures, internal linking, schema markup, and page content
Improve keyword targeting while maintaining strong readability and user experience
Optimize existing pages to improve rankings, engagement, organic traffic, and conversions
Work with content teams to ensure new content follows SEO best practices

Off-Page SEO & Link Building

Support ethical backlink acquisition through outreach, partnerships, guest posting, and PR opportunities
Monitor backlink profiles and identify spam or toxic-link risks
Build strategies to improve website authority and domain trust
Support local and multi-location SEO initiatives when applicable

SEO Analytics & Reporting

Monitor organic traffic, keyword rankings, clicks, impressions, and conversions
Use Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, and Power BI
Build and maintain SEO dashboards
Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports
Translate SEO data into clear, actionable recommendations
Track the business impact and ROI of SEO initiatives

Cross-Functional SEO Execution

Collaborate with content writers, developers, designers, and marketing teams
Provide SEO guidance for website redesigns, site migrations, landing pages, and new website launches
Stay current with search algorithm updates and evolving SEO best practices

Required Experience & Skills

2+ years of professional SEO experience
Strong hands-on knowledge of technical SEO, on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and keyword research
Experience with Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console
Experience working with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow
Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, crawlability and indexing, mobile optimization, internal linking, search intent, and SEO content optimization
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal English communication
Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

Experience ranking competitive keywords in B2B, SaaS, e-commerce, and agency environments
Advanced technical SEO audit experience
Strong knowledge of structured data and schema markup
International or multilingual SEO experience
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) exposure
SEO-driven funnel optimization experience
Experience building SEO dashboards and reporting systems
Experience supporting website migrations or redesigns

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Your day may start by reviewing organic traffic, rankings, and Search Console performance.

You might then run a technical audit, investigate indexing issues, conduct competitor research, optimize existing pages, and identify new keyword opportunities.

Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with writers and developers to implement SEO improvements and monitor their impact.

In short: you keep websites technically healthy, highly visible in search, and consistently growing qualified organic traffic.
