Ophthalmology Medical DirectorAn independent community hospital in Vermont is seeking a full-time Ophthalmology Medical Director to lead its hospital-employed ophthalmology practice. The practice includes an additional ophthalmologist, an optometrist, and a support staff of Certified Ophthalmic Assistants. This is a combined clinical and administrative leadership role serving an established patient population across central and southern Vermont.Schedule: Full-time. Call rotation of 1:4. Dedicated OR block time in an on-site procedure center.Compensation: $350,000 to $450,000 per year, base salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, with productivity-based incentive compensation above base.In the Medical Director capacity, you will provide clinical and operational leadership for the ophthalmology practice. This includes setting and maintaining clinical protocols, driving quality improvement initiatives, and providing guidance and oversight to the clinical team. You will work collaboratively with hospital administration and the broader medical staff to support practice growth and maintain standards of care.Clinically, you will manage a high-volume, established patient panel delivering comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmic care. Surgical volume is accommodated through dedicated OR block time in an on-site procedure center equipped for high-volume cases.
