Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of applicable experience required. High-risk experience is essential. License: Active compact license required. Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: Willingness to float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed. Ability to function as a Baby Nurse during delivery. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC charting system. Ability to circulate and provide newborn care, including assessments and administering injections. Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a high-volume labor and delivery setting, providing care to patients during labor and delivery. Nurses will need to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, often caring for high-risk patients. The role requires functioning as a Baby Nurse during deliveries and providing continuous care to newborns until transfer to postpartum. Circulation during C-sections and providing newborn care, including assessments and administering vitamin K injections, is a requirement. Nurses will be expected to support a diverse patient population, including midwifery clients and those in substance recovery programs. Flexibility with scheduling is necessary, including availability to work weekends and holidays as required. Traveling nurses may have opportunities to float to other units or facilities for additional support when needed. Interdisciplinary support includes various services to enhance patient care. Experience in staffing according to established guidelines is valued.
