This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team while ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, local and state regulations, manufacturer specifications, and North Georgia Fire Solutions' safety standards.

The Technician will serve as a key representative of the company in the field and is expected to maintain professional relationships with customers while identifying equipment issues, documenting service activities, and communicating recommendations clearly.

Position Summary
The Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, installing, repairing, and maintaining fire protection equipment and life safety systems for commercial and residential customers. This position requires excellent customer service, attention to detail, and adherence to NFPA codes and company safety standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of:
• Fire extinguishers
• Emergency lighting
• Exit signs
• Kitchen suppression systems
• Backflow devices (if certified)
• Install new fire protection equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment.
• Complete inspection reports and service documentation accurately.
• Ensure compliance with applicable NFPA, OSHA, and local fire codes.
• Educate customers on equipment operation and deficiencies.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory.
• Respond to emergency service calls when assigned.
• Communicate effectively with office staff regarding schedules and customer needs.
• Able to be trained on Service Trade

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in fire protection, electrical, low-voltage, or related trades preferred.
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs.
• Comfortable working on ladders and in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting equipment.
• Ability to work in mechanical rooms, ceilings, and confined spaces.
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles and power tools.
