Radiology Technologist - Cardiac Cath Lab

Position Overview UHS is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our Cardiac Catheterization Lab team. This is a full-time, day-shift position working four weekdays per week, with scheduled hours between 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The role includes an on-call rotation of one overnight shift (5:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) per week and every fourth weekend (Friday–Sunday), with a required 30-minute response time when on call. In this role, the Radiology Technologist provides essential imaging and technical support for cardiac catheterization procedures, working hand in hand with registered nurses and physicians to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The technologist plays a critical role in preparing the procedure room, operating advanced imaging equipment, and supporting both sterile and non-sterile aspects of care in a fast-paced environment. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Cardiac Catheterization Lab, UHS Wilson Medical Center Primary Work Shift: Day Rotational Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32 Compensation Range: $37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience ----- Essential Functions: Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that are performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Provides technical support for all Cath Lab procedures to include: catheterizations, angioplasty, structural heart procedures, peripheral angiography and angioplasty, temp pacemaker insertion and LV assist device insertions. Responsible for technical support and clinical assistance, both sterile and non-sterile, of procedures including: catheterizations, angioplasty, structural heart procedures, peripheral angiography and angioplasty, temp pacemaker insertion and LV assist device insertions. Operates required advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and non-interventional patient procedures. Ensures proper safety standards are met and radiation safety practices are adhered to. Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties when necessary. Performs quality assurance checks on equipment. Assists in maintaining supply inventory for all Cath Lab procedures. Demonstrates working knowledge of UHS information systems. Demonstrates knowledge of coding procedures for accurate billing of all Cath Lab procedures Learns new techniques and technology by attending lectures, seminars, and educational readings. Non-Essential Functions: Duties the employee may perform that are not essential as defined in the job description. Will perform other duties as assigned Minimum Required Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology New York State license as Radiologic Technologist Two (2) years of experience in full services hospital as a Radiologic Technologist.
