Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating Day/Mids, 3x12-Hour shifts from 07:00 - 19:30 / 11:00 - 23:30, every other weekend and holidays required.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide care in a fast-paced, high-volume general emergency department serving a diverse adult and pediatric population. The ER RN will be a key member of the healthcare team, overseeing a wide range of complex patient diagnoses from pediatric to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in an emergency department setting.
• Effectively manage patient ratios of 1:4, up to 5 with lower acuity conditions.
• Administer emergency medications and perform critical interventions such as intubation and blood product administration.
• Conduct triage assessments and initiate care for patients presenting with various complaints.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Active RN license in Maryland or Compact license.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certification required (CPI certification will be provided during onboarding).
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system.
