Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Job Type Full‑time employee, non‑exempt. This role will start at 20–25 hrs/week and scale up to full‑time as the therapist builds their caseload. Location Denver, CO; primarily in‑person, with remote hours growing over time Compensation $70,000–$75,000/year, depending on licensure status, prorated during the ramp‑up period, plus paid time off and training reimbursement. This is a full‑time role that starts part‑time and scales up as you build your caseload, giving you room to grow into the position at a sustainable pace. You’ll work closely with our peer specialists, strengthening the connection between clinical care and community support so members experience continuity across every part of their care. This is hands‑on work that blends clinical expertise with practical, person‑centered problem‑solving. Because we’re a small team, this role also carries some responsibility for building the caseload it serves. You’ll help recruit clients, nurture relationships with referral partners, and grow Heartland’s visibility in the community. If you’ve worked in private practice, this piece of the role will likely feel familiar, and we’d love to hear how those skills translate to a community mental health setting. Core Responsibilities Coordination & collaboration, including with peer specialists Crisis response Client recruitment, referral relationships & community visibility What You Bring to the Role – Must‑Haves Master’s degree in social work Current Colorado licensure as an LCSW in good standing, or LSW status with a plan to pursue LCSW licensure Minimum 1 year of outpatient mental health experience; 1–3 years preferred Experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness Knowledge of trauma‑informed principles and practices Experience providing both individual and group therapy Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently, self‑direct, and adapt to shifting needs Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SimplePractice or other EHR systems Nice‑to‑Haves (But Not Dealbreakers) Familiarity with Medicaid billing (not required – we’ll train you) Bilingual in Spanish/English Prior experience working in community mental health, harm reduction, or with uninsured/underinsured clients Knowledge of local mental health resources and systems Experience building a caseload or referral network An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort building relationships across the community This role is an especially good fit for someone who is motivated to grow their clinical skills, entrepreneurial and a creative problem‑solver, and energized by interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement.
