Senior Accounts Payable And Accounting AnalystThe Senior Accounts Payable & Accounting Analyst is a hands-on accounting role responsible for end-to-end accounts payable operations while supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and limited financial planning activities. This role partners closely with purchasing, operations, and finance to ensure accurate vendor payments, clean financial records, and timely reporting in a manufacturing environment.Reporting Relationships:This position reports to the VP of Finance & Administration and takes day-to-day direction from the Accounting Manager.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibility.Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Own the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, matching, coding, approvals, and payment execution2. Manage vendor relationships, resolve invoice discrepancies, and respond to vendor inquiries3. Ensure proper coding of expenses to G/L accounts, cost centers, and projects4. Maintain AP controls and ensure compliance with company policies5. Support continuous improvement of AP processes, systems, and documentation6. Assist with 1099 reporting and audit requests related to AP7. Prepare and post journal entries, including but not limited to accruals and AP-related adjustments8. Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger9. Support month-end and year-end close activities10. Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned11. Tracks and manages USE tax obligations12. Ensure accurate expense recognition and cutoff13. Prepare standard AP and expense-related reports for management14. Support cost tracking and analysis related to manufacturing operations15. Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests16. Help identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control17. Back up for payroll processing18. Assist with budget preparation and forecasting for operating expenses19. Support departmental expense tracking against budget20. Provide data and analysis to support planning initiatives as needed21. Undertakes additional tasks as delegated.Education, Experience, Certifications:Education: - Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school required.Experience: - 5-7 years or more related experience and/or training required.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:·Excellent verbal and written communication skills.·Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.·Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers and copiers.·Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.·Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers and employees.·Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Other Requirements:·Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.·Must have the ability to communicate information in speaking and writing so others will understand.·Must be able to see details at close range.·Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.·Must be able to routinely move throughout the office area to assist customers and coworkers.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work assigned to this job.
