Position Details 36 hours/week; benefitted 12‑hour night shift 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Paramedic Position Summary The Paramedic performs routine patient activities and delegated patient care procedures of a specialized and technical nature. This may include observing and monitoring patient condition, identifying changes in collected patient data and notifying the nurse, setting up and maintaining specialized clinical equipment, knowledge of aseptic technique, collecting blood specimens and performing related, delegated nursing procedures. Key Accountabilities Supports the Emergency Center in direct patient care of patients with diverse injuries and illnesses. Functions as a defined team member in the resuscitation of trauma and critical care patients. Utilizes critical thinking to bridge the gap of paramedic and nurse/physician evaluation of patient illness, injury, and presentation. Recognizes and intervenes within the defined Scope of Practice during situations that may place the patient and family at risk. Provides expertise to patients by collecting data, documenting interventions, and performing treatments required for pediatric patients under the direction of the registered nurse to ensure safe patient care and to assist in preventing morbidities of intervention for illness and injury. Qualifications Minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement. 2 years in an acute healthcare setting/prehospital environment with direct patient care. Licensed Paramedic certification required in the State of Florida. BLS and ACLS required; must obtain PALS within one year of employment. Ability to communicate and relate well to people of diverse backgrounds, training and experience. Salary Range Minimum $17.97/hour - Maximum $28.74/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
