Step into a rewarding full-time contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students for the 2026-2027 academic year. Located near Durham, NC and offering on-site service, this position welcomes travel professionals from Charlotte and beyond who are passionate about making a positive impact in educational settings.
In this role, you'll utilize your expertise to empower students and collaborate closely with both staff and families, all within a supportive environment dedicated to helping every learner succeed.
What we’re seeking:
Valid, active North Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification (required for interview consideration)
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
Previous experience working in a school setting preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusive classroom practices
Flexibility, adaptability, and an eagerness to grow professionally
Primary responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Adapt curriculum and instructional materials for diverse learning styles
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
Track student progress and maintain accurate records per state and district compliance
Provide a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment
Participate in team and parent meetings as required
Uphold all ethical and legal standards pertaining to special education
